A while ago, after the office computer system was upgraded, two shared printers could not connect to the local area network. An error occurred when trying to connect: 0x00000709. I found a bunch of solutions online and found these two to be effective. I will share them with everyone here:
Method 1: Add Windows credentials#
- Open "Control Panel" and change the view to "Large icons". Then find "Credential Manager" and open it.
- Click on "Windows credentials" and click "Add a Windows credential":
Internet or network address: the address where your network printer is located (e.g., 192.168.1.7)
Username: guest
Leave the password blank and click "OK"
Method 2: Run fix-printer.bat#
If the first method doesn't work, you can try the following method, which should solve most cases.
- Download the Win11 22H2 shared printer repair patch here, and right-click to extract the files in the current folder.
- Open the extracted files and run
fix-printer.bat
as an administrator. - Wait for the batch command file to finish executing, and then test the shared printer.
